Daily Care

Healthy eating, physical activity, blood glucose testing, and as needed, oral medications or insulin injections, are the tools for managing diabetes. Most of the daily care of diabetes involves keeping the blood glucose levels from going too low or too high. People with diabetes may consult a health care provider, dietician, or diabetes educator to help them learn how to manage the day to day care of diabetes.

The goals of diabetes management is to keep blood glucose levels as close to normal as possible to reduce the risk of developing major complications from diabetes.
