Education:

South Peninsula Hospital Diabetes Self Management classes on topics such as learning to live with diabetes, stress and coping, basics of eating and meal planning, physical activity and exercise, oral medications and insulin, long term complications, and behavior modification. This educational program provides training, information, counseling and supplies for people living with diabetes.  The program focuses on becoming and remaining healthy.

South Peninsula Hospital also offers individual assessment and education for diabetes. Blood glucose meters are available on free short term loans. A registered nurse and dietitian are available for home bound and outpatient clients.
