Dr. Sayer graduated from the University of Missouri and completed his residency in Seattle, Washington.

In 1968 he moved to Alaska and went to work in Anchorage.  Dr. Sayer started his career in the Homer area in 1972 when he began flying down and offering 2 week surgical clinics.  He moved to Homer in 1979 and set up a full time practice.

Dr. Sayer is certified with the American Board of Surgery.  He has also worked at Providence Hospital, Alaska Native Hospital and at Elmendorf in Anchorage, Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Wrangell General Hospital in Juneau, as well as the hospitals in Palmer, Sitka, Bethel, Nome, and Kotzebue.

Originally from Trenton, Missouri, he has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.  He is an active gold miner and pilot  and his other hobbies include spending time with his family and friends, watching rodeo sports, attending an occasional championship boxing match and traveling.
