Cost Blood Tests
Reduced rate
blood tests are offered for only $30. Additional PSA & TSH tests are
available for $25 each. Only water should be consumed within 10 hours prior to
the test, prescription medication should be taken and diabetics should not
fast. Avoid the lines and pre-register for appointments at the following

Community Cancer Forum, Friday Nov. 9 at 7pm at the Mariner Theater
Join us for
a public forum looking at the
impact of cancer in our area, and hearing from a panel on the different aspects
of cancer including prevention, early detection, treatment, resources and life
after cancer. A question and answer period will follow the presentation. Panel
members include: Lea Anne McWhorter, Quality of Life Manager at the American
Cancer Society; Larry Lawson, MD, Doctor of Oncology at Mat-Su Regional
Hospital; Dr. Jeffrey Quam, radiologist at SPH and former Director of the
Breast Imaging and Intervention Center at the Mayo Clinic; JoAnn Tilgner, RN,
chemotherapy infusion nurse at SPH; Sharlene Cline, chair of the local cancer
support group in Homer; Mary Schneider, colorectal cancer survivor; and Ann
Marie Bailey, former Cancer Prevention and Control Director for the State of
Alaska and now the Education Director for SPH. The forum will be moderated by
Dr. Randy Wiest, Chief of Staff at South Peninsula Hospital, and is free and
open to the public.

shots will be provided by the Alaska Division of Public Health, using the
standard public health pricing and payment schedule, but not to exceed $24.
Screenings and Services
Free vision
tests, hearing tests, blood pressure tests, body fat analysis, height, weight
and more! Bring your old eyeglasses to donate to those in need!
Over
70 Informational Booths
Vendors will be
providing free information on everything from diabetes, alzheimer's and arthritis to
nutrition, pet therapy and complementary medicine.
