Text Box: South Peninsula Hospital’s Education Department holds both staff education and community education classes.
 
Staff Education Department offers: 
 
·          Basic Life Support (BLS) 
·          Advanced Life Support (ACLS) 
·          Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC) 
·          Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) 
·          Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) 
·          Monthly Grand Rounds for all staff
·          STABLE Course (Newborn Stabilization for Transport)
·          Fetal Monitoring 
·          Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
·          Medication competency testing for newly hired licensed staff 
·          HealthStream annual education modules
 
Monthly educational offerings for RN’s/CNA’s are: 
·         “In the Know” for CNA’s   
·          “Peak Development” for RN’s. 
·          Satellite Education, as programs are available 
·          Continuing Medical Education (CME) for hospital Physicians and Allied Health Professionals.

Safe Sitter Course
Snow Machine Safety
Reflector Program
Public forums on health topics
 
In the spring we participate in the Kid’s Safety Fair and during the summer we promote Car Seat Check-up Events sponsored by Haven House. Several times a year we also offer the Safe Sitter Course.
 
"Recipe for Health" monthly community forums on health topics important to you.
 
Weekly tips for your health through the "Living Healthy" newspaper column.
 
The South Peninsula Hospital co-sponsors the “Homer Spit Run” in June; “Run for Women” in August; and “Amblin for Alzheimer’s Walk” and other Alzheimer activities in September. The Education Staff assist in coordinating all of these events.
